Somatic Healing: Listening to the Language of the Body
Your body remembers everything not just the stories your mind can retell, but the tremors, the holding, the places where breath got caught and never quite made its way out. In Somatic Healing, we don’t force or fix. We listen. We attune. We invite what’s been frozen to begin moving again slowly, safely, with reverence.
As Peter Levine teaches, “Trauma is not in the event itself; it’s in the nervous system’s response to what was overwhelming.” Somatic work allows us to complete those unfinished responses to let the body express what it once had to suppress.
Through intuitive bodywork, gentle touch, and nervous system tracking, your body is guided toward restoration. We may work with subtle movement, stillness, sensation awareness, or breath whatever your system is ready to release or integrate.
For those at a distance, virtual sessions are just as powerful. Through attuned presence and co-regulation, we access the body’s wisdom from afar, using breath, guided somatic inquiry, and your own touch to shift the stored imprints of stress or trauma.
Somana’s role is not to lead, but to follow to walk beside your body as it reclaims its rhythm, its voice, and its safety.
You do not have to relive your pain to heal it.
You only need to be willing to feel a little more safely, a little more fully than you could before.
